The Raleigh Grand Prix has the d after gran, but with the Gran Sport, the French-like spelling was kept, hence, a 'Gran Prix' really dose make sense to call it in this fashion as this blog is named.

I believe there is good reason to think the Gran Sport and Grand Prix have very similar backgrounds.
